I know that hurts, the "friends" approach is a catch all. She values your relationship as it is and she was honest enough to tell you she would rather not go further without saying something to rip your heart out. That's good to have in a friend. Again, I know it sucks that she said no, but you are better now for knowing. You had the courage to ask her out, it'll be easier to do from this time on. For what it's worth, I'm proud of you, plenty of guys your age would have chickened out.

yea man, really, atleast your still friends tbh that may of been the best thing that could happen, i went out with my best friend who is girl and we broke up worst thing ever, now we don't talk and its really awkward around our friends and when were with each other

highschool dating pretty much sucks, unless you like madly in love with a person and shes the same back and ur like highschool sweet hearts don't expect much out of it,

and being shy sucks i once was really shy but i ve come out of my shell, just gotta do that confidence is a big thing they can like sence it and it helps alot
