I saw a special on this on tv. The guys are weird. I could do it if it weren't for all the retarded names they create for each other. It's turned into 5 year olds concept of adult hood instead of a mature outlet of aggression and training.

It's just like backyard wrestling or underground fighting, which happens all the time.

I think that's their point though. Rather than being some bland amalgam of "corporate man" they are feeding what they believe is their primal nature. Haven't you ever boxed or done any type of organized fighting? I did...as a child and as an adult.

I did, and it was excessively fun. In fact, when me and my friends have a house party, we usually have a few organised fights with gloves etc, we all used to box so we all semi-professional at it and don't go all out. Have a good laugh after if someone got a nice punch in too :P

A few years ago my son had his Birthday party at one of those "bounce house" places where they have a number of inflatable play areas. One of these was called "joust". Basically it's a thick inflated mat with two pedestals towards the center. They give you these very thickly padded staffs and headgear and you try to knock the other person off their pedestal. Here's a link to what it looks like. While the kids played a little on this one it was more the adults that dominated this. This was an absolute blast and people were feeling the pain after this for a week.

That sounds ace. I can't really get time to do any sort of boxing any more, with college and that. I miss it . That video all the more proves that people are getting bored with desk jobs though.

It's not the fighting that I have a problem with. I would love to spar like that. The vid posted may not include all the other information, like ranking each other by giving them all a "dog house name" which is assigned, and usually retarded. But you have to go by that name.

Organized fighting, even disorganized fighting is one thing. But these particular people get involved in some really stupid things that surround it.

That was among the gayest and weakest fighting I've ever seen. It's obvious they have no idea what they're doing.

Before the Movie.
After the Book.

Just stupid under-ground fighting, nothing more.
