I'd LOVE to play in person. Online not so much. I can't imagine it's as fun online.

i play just about every weds and fri, we have an average of 28 ppl that play, each putting up $20. on-line is pretty fun, you can sit back and relax and watch tv while you play.

Which is more fun though for you? In person or online? Sadly, with being older and have a never ending line of responsibilities I never seem to find the time to get together with buddies anymore....it's been too long.

honestly, online, i've actually started to miss the "real" games for online, for several reasons:

1.) i can sit at home and play with my children while i play

2.) i can watch family guy while i play

3.) i can play in 3 games at the same time

4.) i dont lose "real" money(although i usually do pretty good at the bar where we play)

5.) i can eat dinner/lunch while i play

6.) i can surf the web while i play

i actually enjoy it online more, just wish i could put real money up.

I think my dad plays on Party Poker, usually does pretty good on the free money tournies.

I haven't played online in ages, though. I get distracted too easily.

I'd be up for a game. I'm still learning the percentages and stuff though.

TBH without the game to guide me I'm confused about all the small blind big blind dealer etc. crap. I basically have a hard time figuring out the whole bet-raise-call-check thing. Which is, ya know, the core of the game. /=

Set up a date. Fridays and Saturdays are out for me, but Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday are good.

Small blind: half the standard bet, placed by the person to the left of the dealer.

Big blind: the standard bet, placed by the person left of the small blind.

These are basically automatic bets, that way there's always some money on a hand. Each round of betting starts with the small blind player, and on the very first round he posts the small blind automatically.

If no bets have been placed, a player that's up can check - post no bet - and play moves to the next guy. First player to put in money bets. Everyone after either has to call, and match the bet, raise, and increase the bet, or fold.

Etc.

Hey, it takes some skill to play against people who just shove all-in.

I played in Vegas once, I made 85 bucks with a little luck.

Then I played real money a couple times online, lost a couple bucks, but I was getting better so I kept playing for a while. Then I lost more and that's when I considered that I might be a stupid game addict. Then I lost more and it made it clear that I was a stupid game addict. Then I lost more so I decided I had to stop and I haven't played since.

Was hard to stop, but it feels good thinking I'm strong enough to stay away from this addiction. My consin was addicted to gambling and he's in the street now so... I have a good example of what not to follow.
