FAO Gambit / texturererers
Hi I am making a custom texture 512x64, based on an existing trim texture. The problem is, In hammer and in game the texture does not look the same as the vtf file, it has kind of copied an extra part of itself over, so the tiling is totally messed up. have I done something wrong when compiling the texture in VTFedit? It looks ok in VTFedit, but broken in Hammer and in game. What am i doing wrong?

Cos i know your good at textures!!
ok i did something to the bumpmap vtf to get the latest version, but it is still slightly buggered as you can see. Why does it do this?! |

dude, i've never come accross that problem, i've come into one similar to that, but it was due to the way i was converting them from vtf's to tga's. do you have psp or ps? try saving as vtf with the vtf plugin and see if it happens again.
i have no experience with vtfedit so i dont know if maybe its the settings your using in it.

Im using gimp to edit the TGA then using VTFedit to change the TGA to a VTF.
Ok, I just edited a VMT file. It was one file, and i changed the line for the base texture it referenced. Now when i reopen hammer, all my other textures are slightly fucked with this same problem, it just looks slightly different. How can editing one file change all the others? They VMT files dont share the VTFs so how can it affect them?!!?! |

could i see a few SS's of the settings your using for converting the tga to vtf?
and the vmt you changed?(although i dont think this is the problem) this is pretty strange man, i'm curious to find out what it is. EDIT: i really think its vtfedit..
