If the map is designed with all of the tricks in mind, it's usefull. Most maps aren't.

another fun (but not easy) doublejump. dustbowl, CP2, behind the whorehouse (big house with the bell tower lookin thing). strafejump towards one of the boxes, crouch in midair. hold jump and uncrouch as soon as you hit the top of the first box, if done right, you can aircontrol onto the second box and jump onto the roof of the whorehouse.

So for the record:

Double-jump - jumping off any surface shortly after the initial jump, does not require an angled surface - vastly increases vertical speed.

Trimping - jumping off an angled surface or ramp at any time while you have forward momentum, either in the middle of a rampslide or as soon as you hit - transfers a portion of your forward speed to your vertical speed.

Send a message via AIM to squeek.
By the way, this opens up yet another route for pyro skill maps.

Someone needs to make one. Now, preferably.

Yeah. Wonder if you can get it going with horizontal movement speed too? Slow motion concing, effectively. Had a quick (very quick) play and I think something along those lines could be possible, but involves a fair amount of looking backwards and general awkwardness.

You can jump out of the pit in Crossover using this technique. I was called a hacker first time I did it!
