I think it's because of language. Like it says in the server name [HUN], which would probably refer to Hungarians. We happen to have quite a few different languages here in Yurp, just so you know.

Idiot.
And, as I tried to explain to you son, you can't just kick a player for one sampling of ping. In order to kick by ping and not kick everyone (Because of lag spikes) you have to take samplings of pings over time. This usually means 10 samples over 3-4 minutes. These guys may KNOW that anyone from their country is going to be a worse ping and they don't want to have to take all those samples and deal with high pings of people that aren't going to stick around. Kicking by high ping in their case would be a waste of time. Do you get it now? Should I explain why the system works in another way? Do you need a graph and some flow charts?

Perhaps you could explain why auto-ping kickers which kick for extended high ping don't work, after four or five seconds or even during connection they do their job.

Maybe high-speed isn't a big thing in their country.

I think that's what Scuzzy is trying to say.

He's trying to defend the idea of a plugin that kicks based on region, which is logical. I'm just part Jewish.

Alright then, pictures it is. Notice the latency on these Australian servers from where I am:

If I were one of these Australian servers I would definitely lock out people from other countries. Let me explain why a little better:

Australia is SURROUNDED BY WATER. It's FAR AWAY from most steam users. It would be a waist of time to see if people (like from my country) are going to have "a good connection" using a high-ping kicker, because chances are, at 10,360 miles apart the ping is probably going to suck for most of those people. Kicking them on connect based on country opens slots a lot faster for people local and MAKES SENSE. It's not racism, it's LOGICAL.

High speed isn't a big thing in our country. We are falling behind in Internet speed every day.

I just run a string from my computer to the servers computer. Kinda like we did as kids, only more high-tech.

I don't know that you could say the US was ever ahead. Back in the day, when I built up an ISP, parts of Europe were well ahead for the average user even then...I doubt that ever changed. Biggest problem is the size of our country for building out such facilities...I don't think most people have any idea about the cost of building out such things. Back in the day a single decent DSLAM was 60K+ without any consideration of the ongoing cost to keep it alive and well...never more glad to sell a business in my life!

Thanks for the geography lesson of my own home country. American schools really are slacking on that.

Let me bold the part where I stated that it was logical, which you agreed upon:

Here, let's make it a bit more clear:

And clearer yet:

Should I use smaller words, grammaterically speaking?

You never addressed that to me and prior to that post everything you said was "against" what I'd typed. Plus, your last sentance about you being defensive about being jewish added to the thought that you'd mistyped. Glad you agree now. Thanks.

I agreed before that. Did you miss it once again? It was not addressed directly to you, but I agreed.

If underlining it, bolding it, and putting it in size 7 type doesn't make that clear, then I have no idea what to say, other than Uber was right.

I can't comprehend how you can agree, yet seem like you're arguing against it anyway, but you've pulled it off splendidly.

Stop it.

I stopped arguing after stating it to be logical. I was just arguing for arguing's sake.

Meh, back on topic, if the server really intended to avoid high pingers there are some things they should know.
  • I got an 80ms ping to their server, even lower than in the english servers I usually play.
  • They can just get a high ping kicker to avoid this error. (Anyway, the point Scuzzy has made makes sense)
  • If their intentions were to kick high pingers then why use the sentence "Your country isn't allowed here"?
  • TF2 uses the latest version of the source engine, even if the ping is 300, it wouldn't make it harder to you to aim at him.
Also, sorry for posting ip, didn't know it wasn't allowed, my failure. ^^

It's been a LONG time since last I ran a server. If you manually kick someone does the rcon command allow you to enter a "reason" for the kick as you kick someone? Clearly it must... However, you indicated that the kick happened as you were connecting so this was likely not done manually. Maybe the server owner had a run in with some of your fellow countrymen that left a bad impression? Unfortunately there isn't a great deal of information to go on here.

Yes, it was a plugin.
