Is it possible to make "say" scripts?
Hey guys. Like in the old TFC days you could say My health is %h, my armor is %a, or something like that.
Is that possible in this engine? Thanks! |

Yes sir!
A typical health and armor script (along with incomings and all that) would look like this: bind "MOUSE3" "say_team X1=Incoming from my position %l X2=I'm out of position/dead %H (Vic Likes a lot of men)%A ^_^" %l (L) shows your location. %H shows health and %A shows armor.

There are some other commands too, such as %i being your last seen target. Also, I think %c shows your class and %d (or %e, can't remember) shows both your class and what colour team you're on.
You can also combine that shiz with colour codes, by using carets (^) and a number from 0-9, much like in Quake. So, 'say ^4Hi' would globally display 'Hi' in light green text, for instance. Last edited by Sureshot; 02-20-2008 at 08:02 AM. |

I used to have everything I would normally say in conversation bound to a variety of keys. But occasionaly I would miss the chat button when I wanted to talk normally and spam the game with
"I hate bots" "Dammit!" "Ach I'm bad at this" "Son of a whore!" etc.. I don't think people liked it when I did that. |

Well, i hate binds when they are used for pointless, annoying things. such as "AAA It's Pennywize!" or one of bokko's. course, it's bokko, so it's bound to be annoying
