Those AMD Quad-core's suck bigtime performance-wise as far as I know. Plus nothing will make use of those 4 cores.
Save some cash and get a dual-core instead |

I saved some cash from a dual core to get that.
I'm looking up the Phenoms at Tom's Hardware. I'm not seeing any flashing lights saying "Actually these kinda suck!" except that it's 2.2 GHz, but at every rating it's still ahead of the X2 line on the single core. Unless I'm reading this completely wrong, it seems like a damn fine CPU.

Tom's Hardware has a few good things, and the rest is all a load of bullshit. Right now the best performance is from Intel with the C2Ds, especially if you're overclocking. The PSU... just no.
