it is the choice of doing something "fun" or relaxing, dangerous, or hip - the whole addicition side of drugs is largely out of sight out of mind during those decesions...rarely if ever is the thought had hmmm i'd really like to do or try this but i might get addicted. everyone thinks they are different and above it.
and i'm sure when you wrote that, it's easy to make it as simple as envisioning someone doing a line, or shooting up with heroin. what about all the millions that drank this past weekend - did they make a choice in their mind to do something potentially addicitive? no, not really...it's more subtle with alcohol isnt it? when actually its the worst offending drug of them all - the most destructive. with that example, people can drink without worry often for a long time with little consequence until one day, holy fuck, i'm hooked. it's sneakier than you think. |

then good for you. but i first said addiction isnt a choice...that's what you quoted and disagreed with. it's just my opinion.
