It's a black plug, I put it in the black opening in the sound parts in my comp... Sound is the one part of computers I suck at X_X *EDIT* 8 views and no replies... *sob*

READ what's on the jacks and the pc and LOOK at the symbols, sometimes the colors don't match.
That's all I have for you atm. |

You might also check if the configuration program for your sound card has parameters that can be changed for output.
The computer that I am currently on has an ASUS motherboard with built in sound. It came with a program called SoundMax that offers up options for the Listening Environment. There is a dropdown for Speaker Setup with options for Stereo Headphones, Stereo Speakers, Quad Speakers and Surround Sound Speakers (5.1 Surround). It actually shuts off the additional outputs when going to either stereo setting. You should also check in control panel for the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties. In XP Pro there is a section on the Volume tab for Speaker settings. Within that section is an Advanced... button that allows you choose from fourteen different selections for Speaker setup. |

neeever mind...
my freakin' logitech speaker has an M3D button and a fader knob... fader seems to adjust the volume of the rear, while M3D controls whether it's 2 speakers or 4 X_X problem solved, I guess.

My rear speaker seems to be really, really low, as in, low rumbles come out of it every now and then, any idea how to solve this? With a horrid stench that comes out of it sometimes, could it be burning inside?

well, it's never a good thing if some horrible smell is leaking out of electronics.
It may be overheated/burning inside.
