Way to increase ragdoll stay time?
Hey, while this seems like a nonsense request, I like making some demo videos with Source Recorder (so it doesn't have to be recorded real-time) and I think it would be awesome to have ragdolls increase their staytime (Imagine what a detpack would look like with 20 bodies on the ground). I tried using the commands "g_ragdoll_fadespeed" and "g_ragdoll_maxcount" to edit the values, but it seemed to have no effect. Is what I'm trying to do not possible?

That's a great idea, especially for making some hilariously awesome videos.

That's why I said I use source recorder, it doesn't have to record to AVI in real-time. Meaning it can literally be going 1 fps, but the end video will come out at a smooth 30.

The 1 fps will be from the physics, not the recorder.

I don't think you understand, it doesn't matter how slow the actual game is going when you do avi export. It doesn't capture the footage real time, plus you can specify the framerate. The game itself can be rendering at 1fps and chugging like molasses, but it will still export the AVI properly.
Say I want to record a 20 second demo with an insane number of physics going on, that it makes my computer crawl to 1 fps. If I want a 30fps clip, that's 600 frames. That means it will take me 10 minutes to export the clip to AVI, but once it's done, it will playback perfectly smooth at 30fps for 20 seconds. |
