Mechs?

I was wondering....those of you who are well versed in this new engine. Does it have the ability to render, as a vehicle, something like an articulated exoskeleton without clobbering performance?

I've loved Mechs since the original Mechwarrior and before. Though impractical for battle was just curious how these walking tanks would fare in this engine.

I would say that it would hit performance a little more because of the number of moving parts. You could just model a mech for each particular character model and probably get away with better performance. I have no clue really, just wanted to give this thread my bump because I know mirvin or mulch could probably answer.

Oh, and I also know that there *is* a mech mod coming out and probably not too long to go on it either because a lot of stuff was completed for hl1 and now they are switching it to hl2. The HL1 stuff was pretty impressive; They had water reflections and sword particle effects that looked very nice for the engine!

I guess I got to thinking of an objective map where part of what you can do is gain access to a mech and power it up for a temporary gain over the other team. Driving a mech into battle would be pretty cool.
