FF_crossover guide/faq
This thread can be used as a compilation of guides/tricks/tips/faqs for ff_crossover.
I start the thread by addressing one of the most frustrating moments in ff_crossover. After a scout player gets the flag, and concs into the tunnel, the adrenaline rush in addition to the conc effect sometimes causes miscalculations in jumps and often times, the flag is dropped into the black pit, refered to some as the "lost flag zone." ------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a very quick demo guide on how to retrieve the lost flag: http://rkbotservers.com/misc/ScoutGe..._Crossover.dem 1. Get on the lower side of the gap 2. Drop a conc 3. Jump forward from the spot where the texture becomes snow, right in front of the tunnel 2. Press moveback at the height of your jump 3. Aim your crosshair ABOVE the tunnel 4. If I recall correctly, the 'black pit of death' does not insta-kill if you're at full health. At least not medics/spies, not sure about scouts.

I have been playing around with solly this morning. When you get the flag you can toss a nade at the pit wall, then rocket jump over it as it goes off and get out of the pit. In addition there is a little ledge above the way into nmy lower pit spawn. I have tried to build an SG on it with no luck so far, but as a solly: if you rocket jump from an angle you can get high enough to do a second rocket jump off this ledge and get out out of the pit with the flag. You can also do a rocket jump in the corner, one from the floor then another at an angle in the corner to propel you out.

Real easy way to conc out i have found in crossover.
Go up the little elevator in the basement, that leads to the little "sg room" across from the flag. The one with the window with the bars on the sides. Drop a conc right near/against the edge of the window, then step on the little window ledge.. Jump near the end! You can make it all the way to the upper doors leading to sniper battlements if you time it right. |

If you are lucky enough to grab the flag as a spy at full health you can prime a nade and hold it and jump out of the pit as well.
