Valve forums and FF forums
Is it just me or do the valve forums....well suck.
Things here seem much more professional. The valve forums seem like they are ran by a bunch of kids with a chip on their shoulder. |

The guys that run things here know that their product was created for the community. Their product is free and community-based, not put together and released for profit.

The only Valve employee who frequently participates on the Steam forums is DougV and quite honestly, I'd be surprised if any of the other Valve employees even browse them. The Steam forums aren't as "officially" tied to Valve as one might think.

The Steam forums are full of idiots all over the place. The moderators will call you a troll if you disagree with them. l remember a thread that went off topic because half the people thought '<' was greater than.

get over the ''this mod was created for free and not for profit!'' gag all ready seriously. ALL companies make games FOR PROFIT. So whine about valve youll have to whine about the whole game industry in general

I stopped using the Steam forums as a reference forum once they started purging old posts. But to clean up in all flaming and actually extract the useful gold pieces of info on an unpurged Steam forum is impossible. I think they changed the Steam forum to be a service to new players, who don't know every mod back alley out there. As such I think it works fine.

The Steam forums are worthless. Everyone is too concerned about their post counts, including the moderators. Most people on those forums are either new to the games/steam...or complete idiots. I have one word for you...Tassadar.
Reading the VAC banned threads can be entertaining at times though... |

Steampowered is an asylum run by the inmates. One of the things that pissed me off there was moderators deleting or locking threads without any stated reason. You post in a seemingly normal thread and when you come back in the morning it's just gone, and nobody will tell you why.
