Random 'hangs' in all source games
Figured I might as well post here as much as anywhere else. In any source game/mod, I get random 'hangs' where the game will just seem to freeze up as though it is going to crash, and then it goes back to whatever has happened during that time. It usually lasts 2-3 seconds, and I've disabled both my firewall and anti-virus trying to see if that was the problem and no luck. This happens in CSS, DOD:S, and FF. It only seems to happen in online source games. Anyone have an idea of how to fix this? I've checked the rates and everything looks fine. This was NOT happening last Friday before I reformatted my computer, it has only been happening since. All drivers are fully updated.

Just a blind guess, but have you tried turning the power saving for HDD's off?

Nope, it's set up to be always on. Thank you for your suggestion however.

Yeah I've been considering the old drivers. Only thing that really pisses me off is that between Bioshock's release (coincides with new Nvidia drivers) and 1 week ago, I had 0 problems with this, only after the reformat did it start having fits every 10 minutes.
*edit* After reverting back to the previous drivers, I've had to go back to the new beta ones. I run at a 1680X1050 resolution, but for some reason it thinks my widescreen monitor isn't widescreen so it scrolls to the side and back. Last edited by Gravy; 09-15-2007 at 04:12 AM. |
