USB Flash Drives - Crazy Uses?
Alright, so here is my "problem." I have a ton of random USB Flash Drives (or thumb drives as I call 'em). Most of them are 512MB and smaller... does anyone know of some crazy ideas I can pull off with them?
Currently on my desk I have a leather-cased thumb drive, a thumb drive with a laser pointer cap, and my main 1gig drives. I need ideas of what to do. Anything from re-casing to installing odd software. I'll try to do some of the best ones people recommend given that I have the skill level needed. |

Portable apps isn't "crazy" He means modifications, because it's fun if you like taking stuff apart and messing with things.

Somehow figure out a way to springload the end (don't some already to this) and add a sharp point at the end with leather casing.
Then you've got yourself a full-fledged n3rd switchblade. |

A friend of mine has a father who is in the medical industry or some shit.
He started a program (in trial in NJ, no idea if it ever got off the ground) where you pay a small fee and you get a 128MB flash drive and put it on your keys. The drive contains your medical data and history on it. If you ever are picked up by an ambulance, they pop the drive into a laptop on board and read up on you, allergies, etc. The medic alert bracelet of the future. Personally, I am waiting for when they put mini hard drives (those tiny tiny ones) into small formfactors like thumbdrives. Would be cool to (eventually) fit 100GB in something the size of a... thing that small. One thing I have also wanted to see was a sort of like... hard copy flash drive. Basically something with two female USB ports. There is an arrow pointing from one port to the other. Plug flash drives into either end, and you can copy data from one directly to the other wholesale. If I wanted it to be more complex, it could have a mini LCD and a few control buttons so you can navigate it simply for copying, much like a mini MP3 player.

The sync tool looks like it will help me a TON! My main thumb drive and PC still have millions of version of files from me getting sick of remembering which was up-to-date EDIT: It should be noted that I did NOT got out and buy a million thumb drives to mess around with. Most of them were given to me by people who got them as free give-aways from companies. But who really cares if it says "mastercard" on the side when you can rub it off easily? |

If you guy a gig sized one, you can run windows off that.. I think.
Then it would be pretty cool to have all your games/programs on usb drives. It will be faster then a hard drive right? I don't know that will work though |
