Memory question
Hey all,
I bought an extra 1gb of memory a while back, and I think that it might be dodgy. I now have 4 sticks, each 512mb. Are there any memory testing progams out there? Should I test with the full 2gb in or just the dodgy ones? Hmmmm advice sought please. |

My friend was having major mem problems on his laptop.
We booted to his bio's memtest with one chip and then the other. When it blew-up on the bad cheap, we knew which one to swap out |

Can't always believe the yellow brotherhood............ Memtest86 is still available as a free download at http://www.memtest86.com/. It's best to test the 'dodgy' module by itself. Also, What's the specs of the memory you're worried about? What motherboard/model system are you installing into? How much memory total are you trying to achieve? How much memory is already installed? |

This board has had a number of BIOS revisions issued, since first release, including some that were specifically memory related. Current version is 1302. If you have an older version, recommend you update your BIOS. Make sure you install the correct chipset drivers PRIOR to installing the new BIOS.
