Making maps for Fortress-Forever.
Do you guys use the HL2DM setting on Source SDK or the HL2? I would imagine HL2 for the final versions, but HL2DM to test the map.

Most use HL2:DM, some use CS:S, and others use HL2

I use HL2:DM mostly. I'm guessing it's closer to how FF will be in terms of netcode and physics and stuff.

I use 100% HL2 DM. No real reason, except I think it is closer to FF than any of the other ways to build, and I don't want to use CS content, really. Plus, I can show screenies with the crowbar!

virtual collision , you can turn the collision hull of the displacements on or off, usefull if you want to make waterfalls, but this wasn't possible before, and still not in hl2 sp. i have to compile with -novirtualmesh to get displacements working right like they should

All of a sudden my hammer is eating up like 99% of my cpu and getting really really bad framerate. I was wondering if this has to do with a steam updage, and if other people are having this problem, or if it's something to do with my computer.

I used it yesterday and it ate up most of my memory and slowed my pc down but that is normal since I only have 512MB of ram since the other 512MB broke for some reason.
