Blister....presents: FF_Flare
Like yea...I was browsing around the mapcore forums, and I found something sexy! Blister forgot about us (or hasn't decided to share it in these forums )........FF FLARE:
http://www.mapcore.net/forums/viewto...r=asc&start=15 http://users.pandora.be/storage_dv/ff_flare_b5.zip Beta 5 is up for download 5 My view about the map: Some lights can be improved here and there, same with some textures. I'm really liking the style you're going with, very unique and sci-fi. Good Job and keep us updated! |

Holy fucking hot shit Blister! I actually ran around the map, and I'm giving you the following scores:
Optimized: A, fuck, I expected to lag due to the wonderful geometry you got going, but steady FPS all around the map, great job! Design: A, Seems like it will be very well balanced for CTF Lighting: B+, get rid of the purple lights in the blue base! I'm really loving your sci-fi / unique rounded-shaped lights, give it a great taste! Creativity: A+, one of the best looking maps for this sci-fi theme that I've seen in the source engine... Unique: A+, you design your taste Overall: A, great job and keep us updated. May I suggest: Vary up the metal textures, perhaps reskin some of them to vary it a bit. The yard is superb, fuck! |

doesn't the ff community mean those who are part of the forum, and actually contribute to the ideas/suggestions of the building of this oh-so wonderful mod?

Seems those guys are part of an established mapping community though, thats a bit different than us hardcore eff effers. It would be nice to centralize all mapping shit related to FF through this site, which will probably be more likely to happen once the mod is released.

I've spoken to him about his map quite a bit and was under the impression that he was going to post it here at some point.

----------- I didn't post it here before as i first wanted feedback from mappers who are used to giving in-depth criticism for a long time, on hundreds of maps. I don't mean you guys don't give good feedback, i just wanted to bring it to a state where you wouldn't have to go through many iterations. Actually i just awaited the latest feedback from Defrag before submitting it here (He gave me great feedback on the first beta) Also, i don't think there are many serious FF mappers "out there". From Snarkpit i only know Jinx, from Mapcore only Defrag? From Interlopers i dunno. Anyway, i made a separate thread for anything related to feedback on ff_flare here (pics, info etc without having to click links): http://forums.fortress-forever.com/s...ead.php?t=8232 |
