It's always warm and sunny up here in Bellingham. Bellingham is like Seattle without the rain. I.e. not like Seattle at all.
We get a bit more snow typically though (lucky for me ) |

This just gets better and better, theyre telling us not to use tap water because the filtering station was not operational due to the blackout. Apparently theyve been saying this for days, but who the hell knew, we didnt have power so no TV. Atleast I have a solid pop supply but I still showered in it... ick... Theyre saying to boil the water for atleast 2 min before any use. And our store is sold out of water

Showering should be fine just don't gargle it while showering. It's ingesting it where you could have issues. What is it that is most often caught by water processing out where you are? Solid or biologically active contaminants?

since they are saying to boil for 2 min, I'm going ot guess theres biological agents that escaped the purification process... harmfull bacteria and such.

Thats crazy man. I hope you guys get everything sorted out. Sometimes I think situations like these, although very tragic, are also a blessing in some ways. I guess it could have been much much worse and hopefully people will be better prepared in the future. I haven't been in a situation such as yours so I may be way off base by saying people could be better prepared.
It has been in the mid 70s-80s here in Texas so we'd gladly take some of the cold weather if we could. Do you know if there's anything set up for donations yet? |

Anyway, snow storms have been hitting New York and other places for a long time now. Don't see how they couldn't be prepared already. =\ |

we were technicaly unprepared by the fact that we have never even had snow till 31st of october for as long as I lived here... much less a destructive storm on the 12th of october.
Most ppl pile up batteries and candles but nobody was ready this early... live and learn. The hazardous warning on water has not been lifted yet and I'm subsiding on so much ginger-ale that I'm worried about diabetes now. I've had nothing but sweet pop for going on a week now. |
