EAX is the shitty creative system of DSP, which stands for digital signal processing

Just enable dsp in the soundscapes you're using, stino.

Arr, thanks. So yea, your soundscapes should take care of the DSP for you. It's not for no reason that I say HL2 had the best sound of any game ever period.

Like this.
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Soundscapes It's not the most comprehensive explanation, but it tells you how to write one. And, by the way, you do not need a soundscapes_manifest.txt. I think you used to but you don't anymore. Just make soundscapes_ff_badlands.txt or whatever and stick it in your scripts folder and that should work. |

You don't actually have to reference the soundscape file. The game automatically tries to load soudscapes_<mapname>.txt
If you have a soundscape file with this in it: Code:
"outdoors" { "dsp" "1" "playlooping" { "volume" "1" "pitch" "100" "wave" "ambient/atmosphere/town_ambience.wav" } } |

ok, so i have to manually insert the soundscape in the bsp (bspzip) becouse MAN only search for references to non-default files.

- sound stuttering - sound loop - volume goes up and down by random - eax dies for no reason (tried multiply drivers and stuff, only noticed in HL2 and HL2EO so far) YES HL2 best sound award. |

really, i don't like the sound in hl2 (not the way of using it, but the way it works), like it should be 3d, but if i set it to 4 speakers => no sound, if i put it to 2 speakers => you can only left and right, no front or back sounds, so if someone is speaking to me (hl2sp) i have to turn so he's at my left/right :s

Really? I've just got headphones on and I can hear shit behind me just fine. Do you have a program to set up your hardware for specific audio modes? I've got one, I have to set it to surround sound in order to use surround sound properly, or headphones to use headphones properly, etc.
