Across the Universe (Movie of the Year! IMHO.)
Went out to see it with Rifle yesterday. Absolutely awesome.
For those who don't know, it's a musical (like Chicago) about a guy who comes to the US from Liverpool to find his father, and ends up becoming friends with a guy, and falls in love with his sister. It's set during the 60's, and is narrated entirely in covers of Beatle's songs. The story was fantastic, the music was extremely faithful, the dancing was wonderfully done, and in the end, it is easily the best movie of the year. So go and see it, now! Seriously, its that good. 10/10.

I love how you think I'm attacking you personally. It was more of a reflection on American culture nowadays, because who really knows what a musical is anymore? The fact that you have to go out of your way to explain it (for the audience's sake) is what I was criticizing, not the fact that you did. It's honestly nothing personal.

Finally got to see Across the Universe last night and really enjoyed it. I was surprised to see that nine out of ten audience members were in their teens or early twenties since I figured I'd be there with mostly 40 and 50 year olds. Dana Fuch really blew me away and Bono, Joe Cocker and Eddie Izzard were really well placed characters. There's so much to see that we'll probably have to go and watch it again just to catch all the easter eggs. It would be interesting to read other's thoughts on the movie by age group. How do mid-teens see it as opposed to those in their 20's, 30's, 40's etc?
