Bye Bye Hank!
Barry Bonds just broke the home run record.
Should there be an asterisk? (*) I don't think so, because he passed all the tests given to him, from what I understand. I think people just won't except the fact that Hank's record had finally been broken. I'm no big baseball fan, but still, it seems reasonable enough to me.

Should there be as asterisk? Yeah, about as big as his ego and unexplained bulk. The guy's a cheater and a huge asshole who deserves nothing but condemnation and a good kick in the teeth. You're obviously not well read on the subject so, here's one of hundred's of pieces of info on him: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...rpt/index.html

He was a hall of fame player before steroids, I don't know why he would ruin his legacy like that.

We need to create a Supah Baseball game, make the fields hundreds of feet longer, decrease the distance between the pitcher and the batter, make the diamond bigger, increase ball mass and allow solid steel baseball bats. That way all the pros can roid up a to their hearts content (and explosion) while we get a very entertaining game of baseball.

You know what would be funny in this image of yours? A solid stell bat escaping from the batter hands and falling in someone's head. |

it doesn't even matter if they have protection. Steel baseball bats would send the ball flying so damn fast that anyone who got hit would probably be pretty fucked up. Especially if their bat speed increased due to the roids.
Even young college players are being killed by the ball coming off metal baseball bats. |

I don't follow baseball, so as far as whether or not he's using I can't inteligently say. But what I would like to say is that using steroids should be banned, and IF it were proven that a player achieved a high score because of steroids then I don't even think he should recieve and award. I'm a fan of lines where appropriate.
If you're on this side of the line you don't use steroids. If you're on the other, then we don't want you to play. End of story. I'm not saying condem them, or haze them or hate them. Steroids is a personal choice. They have negative effects on the human being and some people don't care, while other's do. You can't mandate that everyone take steroids to keep an even field of play. But you can morally mandate that no one takes them to keep said even field. Look at olympians. They took away an award 'cause a guy smoked pot. While I think that's kinda stupid because there's no way pot enhanced his performance, I use that as an example to point out how strict they are. The human body can become so many things if appropriately trained. I think it's more interesting to see a person run every day, lift weights, practice constantly and THEN after all that go and break the record. Not because he took a pill, but because he worked harder than everyone else out there and deserves it more. I want to see the end product of desire and motivation. |
