I completely agree, but the problem is, if you let fucked up kids 'find their own path', you'll have Government workers from social programs forcing you to do things against your will (as a parent).

For example, my sister is emo, suicidal, a druggie, etc, and she's still in High School. The school drug tests her every single week, and if she isn't clean, my mom is forced to pay for $120/week for group counseling. On top of that, she's already forced to take my sister to a shrink, which is another $400/month. If that wasn't bad enough, my sister was out past curfew and the cops brought her home, and my mom now has give the officer that brought her home an update on her status every month. My mom is a single parent, and she has to miss work time to do all of this shit--if anything social workers and Government programs are making her life harder. Oh, and like I said earlier, about the 20-somethings fresh out of community college--her shrink is actually one of those 20-somethings fresh out of community college, and she's the most judgmental psychologist ever. Some preppy bitch that drives a Mercedes and is probably 25 or younger. Yea, I'm sure she'll understand the intricacies of my sister's hard life.

Yea, she's doing group, and my mom is paying nearly $800 a month for it. Oh, and she's meeting bad people in group too. She met her current boyfriend in group, and the guy is a nightmare. Yay.

Military School. Can't be more then all the mental help she's getting now. It's also hard to be a druggy when you're broke. Pull all her money and if she it's back in the house by 10:00, get rid of her bed and let her sleep on the floor. Next time take the sheets and pillows. When she owns nothing but an empty room, she'll start to learn.

And can't your mom stop her from leaving the house?

I don't mean to come out harsh, but there are ways to fix bad kids. It's harsh. It's bad. It's hell. But there are many options to try before giving up.

At 4 there is still hope the spankings will work. Most of the time it's lack of discipline from the parent for these behaviors at an early age. They also mimic their home life/parents.
