Fallout: New Vegas
Soooo, has anyone grabbed it? I meant to buy the Steam pre-order pack but forgot so now I don't get my caravan special gear...
Not that I really care, I bought it mainly for my kid and I'm sure I'll beat it a few times once this semester winds down. I was disappointed in it graphically; you'd think that after 3 years they would have pulled a Valve and updated the engine, smoothed things out, made it more-pimper. Still, looks fun and I'm fairly excited, hoping I can get enmeshed with the world again. |

I'd wait a bit, it's extremely buggy. I've had it crash a few times on my 360 already, and FPS can drop quickly in simple areas.
Oh, if you played FO2, all I have to say is MARCUS!

LoL, I guess its a big enough issue that they've patched it already. I got it for PC this time around though - the addons for Fallout3 were so bad it locked my PS3 up regularly while playing.

I don't like it at all to be honest, and will probably never buy it.
I don't even consider it a 'new game', it's just Fallout 3 loaded with some mods here and there, some new gameplay aspects, cool, and new UI with other shit renamed into Fallout New Vegas. Nothing I haven't played before. If the engine is still shitty, and crashes just as much as Fallout 3, it's not even worth pirating.

Yea I keep reading about New Vegas everywhere, apparently it's not ready yet. I think I'll just end up waiting for the inevitable Steam Christmas sales to pick it up.

Quote:
It's not just a FO3 Exp Pack. That's like saying, FO2 was nothing but a Exp to FO1. and that FoT was nothing but a new game mode. I get a crash every 8-10 hours of straight(Sometimes longer) gameplay, some FPS Lag, but that is it. The only way a Fallout Game will be considered new is if they changed the gameplay(aka FO3), change the story to before the Great War, or during the Great War.
