Clan Games
Been thinking about how the classes are supposedly more balanced in FF, and how that might affect clan games.
Was hoping a beta tester could let me know what they think a setup in a clan game could be. Any possibility of a pyro on defense? A solid position for a spy / pyro / demo on offense? Would they still be as effective in clan wars as they apparently are in public style play? |

"Any possibility of a pyro on defense?"
Sure. "Spy/Pyro/Demo on Offense" Depends more on the map for Spy/Demo, but the Pyro is definitely a good heavy offense option. "Would they still be as effective in clan wars as they apparently are in public style play?" I think that really depends on the player. With the Pyro and Spy especially, there are a lot more options for them that would make them a viable offense. The Spy can shut down the entire defense if he's really good - take out the SG and dispensers simultaneously, backstab a soldier, and suddenly all hell breaks loose. The Pyro is as fast as ever and can dish out a genuine beating, and his improved IC definitely helps his mobility. He's still not as quick as a concer but he's far more viable than ever before. I think, though, until people really get in and start using the classes, they'll never be as good as Medics and Scouts. People need to have a willingness to really try them now and see what use they can be put to, and I'm honestly worried that no one will take them seriously just because they weren't much good before. |

im sure someone will be able to describe it better than i can, but yes on all accounts.
pyro offense proved to be very useful against an all solly d until an engy d got involved. but spy offense became useful against that engy defender. and then pyro d became useful against that spy offender. a sniper defender becomes useful as well. etc., etc. the old "med vs solly" mindset had to be replaced with a more versatile and context sensitive strategy. EDIT: ^ what he said and he isnt kidding about that spy, i was fucking some shit up the other night on well |

Cool, sounds great.
I really dont think there will be a problem in regards to giving previously weak classes a chance in a proper match. I for one, will definately want to try pyro/spy/sniper in clan matches, and I'd imagine alot of people who have played scout and medic for the passed 6/7 years will be itching to give pyro a go on offy or def. |
