FF Epicenter (Beta 2 DL)
Browse thread for updated photos!
I've tried to get in contact with the guy who said he was doing this, but have heard nothing so I've carried on: Original blue start: Doesnt really look that much like the original, so I added team colours. After a bit of texture manipulation in PS: And outside: Its hard to do, my dod experience makes we want to fill the place with rubble and jagged edges, but the TFC side makes me go no! Clipping nightmare, conc jumps everywhere = nightmare! So I'm trying to do a destroyed city, with smooth edges! Of course there will be a 3D skybox of all the city thats been destroyed, should look ace and make up for the smoothness in the playable area. .:Beta 2 Download:. I'm really digging the fire. It now actually has that destroyed city look. Very pretty.

Another thing I'm doing to keep the sticky spots down is that all the model rubble, debris and detrius (lovely word) is all not solid. You can run straight through it, grenades wont be affected by it. The displacements (the main rubble pile) and larger chunks of concrete are solid however. I think it will work quite well, having all of it collideable will be a nightmare. |

I'm thinking a DoD mapper should be the only kind of mapper to make this map. Are you changing the styles of the gameplay or will it be the same old "Wait for Flag, Cap, Round Reset".

I'm unsure, whislt it gave a nice "rest" period from the relentless action, it was annoying as an Engy to have to rebuild your SG's every time. It would be nice to have it more fluid, but keep the rest waiting for flags.

Screenshot 2: Floating light? Or is that some weird error that I just can't see? Otherwise, ditch/move it.
What'd be cool would be to have a "series" of lights in the ceiling, and then where there's an empty spot, have the lights all damaged (out, of course) and in the rubble, if possible. |

Its connected to the girder above by a wire, just can't see it, JPEG compression must have removed it.
APC looks huge, its taken from CSS and is pretty much 1:1 scale, makes you realise how out of scale the old APC in epicenter was. Far buildings (where the centre of the map will be) are just blocks at the moment, will be constructed properly. |

I'm really, really digging this map. It's got the best perspective possible for this map: The DoD one. Gogogo!

Fuck that is nice. Would like to see texture style/brightness similar to the original though.
