Something to hold you over...
I found something online that seems to be a Flash game of an FPS... tons of options and you can set it to full screen (only 800x600 res though). Its like the Quake 1 / UT fragging experience in a box... its only in beta but this stuff is amazing for not having to install anything... needs multiplayer and more guns, but otherwise this is a very fun game... give it capture the flag or TF and I'm sure this nifty idea will take off on a lot of multiplayer servers. Especialy the minimal bandwidth it would require to run it.

OMG!
If only I'd had this when I worked in tech support, it would have given me something to do on the weekends. |

yea, i thought it was amazing too... it was easy at first but then I noticed that this thing even had match and bot settings, you can make it go for longer, or more kills, and more bots. Remembers your game and control settings to boot, and guys, dont forget to set the video quality to something higher, since most ppl on here have good machines... otherwise it defaults everything to medium.
Amazing work overall, but yea, they do need more maps and better resolution, its a little blurry on my when I switch to full-screen, I run on 1280x1064, 19" lcd. Honestly though, if Quake 1 was made to be playable just like this, over a website with a flash application, I'd be gaming in it right now, not having to install anything sure is awesome... I've already loaded up this little gem 3x today. Can play this stuff infront of everyone in my university computer lab, nice! |

It's cool, but when I go fullscreen it tries to center between my two monitors.

I remember playing the alpha for this game about a year ago. The graphics were good then, but they're even better now.

Yeah you'll hafta do a manual install, it should tell you that and take you to the site... S'what it did for me. Or just go to the Shockwave site.
