Great WWI Color pics (might be useful for a mapper)

http://www.network54.com/Forum/21183...otos+(must+see!!)

these are real, non-digitally colored WW1 pics....and as soon as I saw that church, I thought of FF...there are a few good maps that use churches, right?

Keep reading and I think it explains they are real colour but it was a very expensive process only mastered by the French.

ty...i'm glad someone read past the first 5 replies :P

yea, they're legit color pics, and not too bad for being so old. better than my 3megapixel pile of shit next to me atleast...

I was thinking of other maps besides avanti...there are other 3rd party maps that have churches that could be replicated in FF using some graphics or something from these pics...i dono...lol

They're just pretty pics. Kinda like this one (render this in FF and I'll give you a cookie):

Thats freaking bad-ass how they got color back in those photos. It makes it seem soo much more closer in time than it really was. Its hard to believe those kids in the pictures are probably dead by now.

You do realise colour wasn't invented until the 60's right? Everyone was actually black and white. The TV tells me so.

This actually does hint to the fact that at least for me, WW1 looked suddenly more real by looking at these pictures.

This stems from what I would call the anxiety of actuality and "live" with the documentation that goes with it spawned by modern society.
