Damian Deile from Electrofiction has just released a texture compiling utility as an aid for all the Half-Life 2 mappers out there. Here's what he had to say about it.

I've just released a beta release of vmtCREATE, a GUI application designed to ease the compiling of textures and automate the creation of .vmt files and is primarily slanted toward use by mappers.

You can download the application from our downloads section. If you have comments, questions or suggestions regarding this application please stop by the forums and share your thoughts.

Stay tuned to the Electrofiction website as well since the team has also just started work on a Half-Life 2 modification.

wait so what exactly is this vmtcreate? It makes textures? or does it help you add textures to hl2? please explain

I use Jeds VTF Edit combined with Nem's VTF PS Plugin, I've used it since the beta he gave me months ago and I quite like it, no idea what its like compared to this but I'm offering it out as alternative.

Does TGA -> VTF & VMT and vice versa with a bucketload of options.
