something ive noticed in general about TFC servers

i was playing for the first time in aaaages (like the first time in 4/5 years) in a server where clan play is enforced. instead of getting moaned at for whining about midmap DMing like in a pub, i got told my defence techniques were lame. i was playing SD2, and last time i played a match there i always used to be solly/engy in the switch room. i got flamed to buggery for this.

so ive noticed a huge gaping hole in servers. theres somewhere for pubbers to go, and theres somewhere for clanners to go, but theres nothing in between to attract new wannabe clanners? (im guessing to get the FF scene going, a better TFC base would help)

so to the current TFC admins: aint there anywhere where i can get myself back into the swing of clanning? :/

in fact, fuck team fortress - the pubs i play on bring me nothing but shear displeasure. i'll be putting my map up on the silo thread too if anyone wants to continue it

playing in positions where people defend is probably a good way to get back into clanned tfc?

na i keep trying to practise as an offy medic, but i just keep getting mowed down midair by snipers. if i make it through that (usually by HHing), i come across a gauntlet of HWGuys. if i manage to get around them, i grab the flag, then make my way back. i then get backtracked by either an engy with his shotgun out, or i just get flamed by a pyro.

pubs are fun.....for the people that play those classes (and theyre usually restricted to 1/2 per team)

ive been playng on 2fort only servers, and its fuckin n00b central. You got like 4 snipers per team, but your own snipers wont shoot the other snipers, they just go for the guys trying to get the flag, then the amount of OvO is insane! why people dont respect the no OvO rule is beyond me....

Then once you get inside the base you have to deal with 4 HWG, WTF! Now...this would not be a problem with a full Offensive team, but when all those who could have been offense are playing as snipers back in your base, it gets aggrivating

and just for the cherry on the cake, my adsl sux so i cant HH very well either. the timer's a split second slow one second, and even slower the next

this seems a rather simple situation.

you play def in silly places on clan servers, but you try to play offy med properly on pubs.

try swapping those two around, i beleive there is a solution...

in terms of the clanserver thing- i was trying to say that things have moved on since i last played clan style, theyve moved on a long way. i quite playing last time so i could concentrate on my GCSEs.. ive since just quit uni lol

but ya, i really should take pubs less seriously :/

I despise all the "gentlemen agreements" and all those stupid ass rules people come up with like no O vs O. And that's why I don't clan anymore and have no respect for "elite" or "top" clanners. Plus, my skillz peaked right about the time I moved from dial-up to broadband. I was awesome with lag.

I just hate servers w/ those rules or those people. F*** them. I didn't pay for a game to not be able to play it how I want.

Of course, I'm all for anti-cheat type things and generally don't care if they intrude on my game or my thoughts on the game.

No. Actually he's the second person on the Dev. team to have agreed with me/everyone else that hates it.

I just like it when other people come out against the "etiquette rules" because whenever I do it I just feel like I'm whining.

i dont see why its an issue, there are random free for all pub servers, and there are clanstyle servers, you pick which to go on.

im sticking to clan style with people i know who can bear with my rusty practises
