2mesa
Mmm, so I've been working on a 2mesa[3] remake for about a week on and off. I've basically got the flagroom done but I think I need to mess with a the lighting a bit before I continue with other things (and the elevators only go up and stop until the map resets at this point... probably need to fix that, heh).
Structurally I probably won't change much. 2mesa3 is definately my favorite map in TFC and I want to make it pretty much as it was made, although I'm making it slightly more curvey and such. Plus, I don't think there's much to improve on... In any case, screens: IMAGES AS OF 12/3/05: http://forums.fortress-forever.com/v...?p=72094#72094 Also, one last thing: right now the base isn't team colored at all save for the blue lights. I'll probably end up replacing that bottom strip of texture to a blue/red texture when there are actual red/blue textures to choose from. |

i cant remember the original offhand, but from those shots its a good start :)
with regard to textures: id make your own, the MDK is a long way off i think. i'll probably release my map's custom textures when i'm done with them too (see here for pics) |

i think the window could do with being abit more slanted, also the window at the top should have an invisible wall covering it so when you conc up you dont snag inside it and become sg fodder. other than that its lookin very good, and has oppotunity for some nice 3d skybox in the window

I probably should have put the thumbnails of the original map in the screenshots, slipped my mind.
...and there is a clip brush over the ceiling so you can't fly up into that little circle area. |

As Mervaka said, "It's a good start".
2mesa3, although not played much anymore, remains one of my favourite maps. |

looks too much like the original flag room, spice it up and make it your own.

I love it! Looks way cleaner! Keep up the good work! It will be interesting to see how it plays without the water sound bug. Also the team colored lights is a very nice addition for setting the room atmosphere up.

okay, so I fixed up the lighting quite a bit to make it look more pretty and less random. I think the flagroom is basically done, save for a 3D skybox which I'll put in later.
new screens with thumbnails and without the hud crap: http://www.hellasick.com/omegalol/backview.jpg http://www.hellasick.com/omegalol/upperview.jpg http://www.hellasick.com/omegalol/battsview.jpg http://www.hellasick.com/omegalol/mainview.jpg |

ah, 2mesa — a damn good map, and by the looks of it, you're doing a damn good job . Have to say, though, that some of the platforms could do with a little trim around the edges; in 2mesa0009.jpg it's bothers me to see the tile texture suddenly cut short.
