If anything by your logic technically the leagues should be encouraging TF2 in place of TFC and letting FF fend for itself.

I don't see how TF2 relates to TFC in any way aside from the name. All the features and strategy from TFC is in FF (concing is the best example) except the FF team added new features and sped up the gameplay a little bit.
I totally see FF as the evolution of TFC. Not TF2
