I've managed to survive thus far via trading and gathering plants. A fisherdwarf sounds like a good idea indeed.

I have a kitchen and still built, but no dwarves dedicated to those professions at the moment as I am currently working on building a very large dining hall and meeting hall.

I'm getting a ton of ore that's useless to me (for practical purposes), i.e. Alunite and Magnetite. It can't be used for floors/walls/etc... so what the hell is it good for? I have like 300 Alunite and 50 Magnetite in my massive stores.

Every time my dwarves strike Alunite, I die a little inside.
