They're strange. Your ears actually go inside the cans. There is indeed some sort of sound when nothing is playing. Imagine putting speakers inside two seashells and strapping them to your head...that's what they feel and sound like...almost claustrophobic. It's a relief to take them off.
Decided just to pick the Turtle Beach X12s. £34.31. I was satisfied with the x11s so they'll do...
I'll go uber fancy when I need new ones on my next rig with a nice sound card.
