Your issue is not power of the server, but rather bandwidth and power of the db .. thats what takes the hits, not the webserver. If you are running your db locally, I really couldn't give you a valid opinion unless I saw system graphs from the past 30 days. If you are only running webs, and want to save money .. get a managed host with virtually unlimited b/w and storage. The reason for this is because the host db's offsite on heavy servers that can handle that kind of traffic. a VPS or ded server is only if you want to do more than host websites, honestly.
