Typical rant needs typical answer: Both Torchlight games are, as already stated by many, made by Runic Games. But.. get this, before splitting, they also made Diablo 1 and 2, so uh, holy shit, it makes sense for them to have simularities. A lot of them, even. What's the harm?
I mean honestly, might as well say any RPG game is a rip off of DnD. Borderlands 2 should be a rip off Diablo 3 right? No other game should have ranged classes, pets and desert wastelands right? Or God should sue us for producing games like Prototype and Infamous right? You know stupid this shit sounds? Silly.
And to be honest, the latest installment of the Diablo series was a massive disappointment, so is it really a big deal if Torchlight 2 reminded you of something in Diablo? Cause' it fucks Diablo 3 in the ass anyway.

BREATHE DAMMIT! lol. seriously, calm down. im not bitching about it. just said they could have made it not so in-your-face obvious. and like i said, TL and TL2 are awesome games. I am loving every minute of playing it. and i have played diablo 3 for about 20 minutes... it fuckin blows. I would rather play TL any day. blizzard is fuckin up left and right. D3 sucks, WoW is just a waste time, and all the damn years i waited for SC2... it was nowhere near as good as i thought it would be. Runic games needs to make a rts like SC.
