Both bikes have aluminum frames and carbon forks. Aluminum frame will give you a stiffer ride than titanium or steel but they're nice and light.

Thanks. I'd heard the same about the Tiagra in other circles, also that the Sora was a bit "clunky". I've heard the shifters are more natural on the Fisher (haven't had a chance to ride it yet), but I liked the way they are setup on the Trek. I'm going to go test them out again tomorrow, see how they feel.
