It seems like it does you a favour of having two functions in one, but you are handicapping yourself when it comes to bunny hopping. Even for TFC this has no benefits I can think of skills wise.
As Dr.Satan has said the only time you need duck is to crawl into spaces. And briefly reducing bhop momentum speed (if you are good enough to reach high speeds) to slow yourself down to avoid the cap.
