What the heck are you doing, swinging on the cables or something? Maybe its catching on something. I've had mine since January and there are no problems with the cable.

I paid $50 bucks (plus taxes) from Amazon.ca (free shipping) for my G500, it was on sale. I've seen the G700 on sale for $80. I'm sure you could find it as cheap on amazon.com, newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, ncixus.com, ebay or any number of other sites.
