The availability of the devs is in constant flux. We could always use more help, but, sadly, recruiting from outside the community has almost never had any useful results. As far as I know, even before 1.0, it was next to impossible to count on people that were just looking for mod work to produce anything at all or stay for more than a week or two. Personal investment in the game itself seems to be a very key element to someone putting in any real effort.
