You don't realize how big Canada is do you? I don't know how close Suite307 is to the boarder, but I'm about a 10 hour drive to the boarder.

And even if we were to get someone to get it in the US, then ship it over the boarder, there goes any savings there would have been and we might as well have just bought it locally.

And if we're getting something shipped over the boarder then we're gonna get hit with high shipping costs, taxes, and duty. (thankfully we don't have to convert the money now either cause that usually tacked on an added 15% to 20%)

I know when ever I get something sent to me from the states, and it comes by UPS, I always end up spending an extra 20 to 40 bucks even if that item was free. Because they pass it off to another company who charges those kinds of fees. And so far thats only been small items like a video card or psu, I have no idea how much that would be if it was a larger item like a monitor.

And thats after the shipping from there has already been paid by the other person.

People in the US buying from Canada don't get hit with the same costs we do, fair trade screws us Canadians over every time.

The only way we Canadians could do like you suggested, is if we're saving almost 50% of the cost and I doubt he would have picked up that same monitor for around 150 to 180 bucks.

If I was close to the boarder that would rock. I would get a friend to receive something, then come across the boarder with little worry about being searched, drop off the item to me and then go home. Then when they wanted something from Canada, I'd do the same thing for them. No extra shipping costs, no extra taxes and no worry about getting hit with extra costs. But this would be only if we were both within a 10 minute drive of the boarder, anything more would be iffy, but then again it doesn't matter cause I'm over 10 hours away from the closest boarder crossing.
