I've played a lot more today, maybe 6 hours or so and I haven't crashed once. The only annoying bugs are the scoreboard / frags not displaying properly and the respawning at a 45 degree angle. Other stuff like missing animations and miscellaneous options I expect will be fixed for the next patch.
All in all an extremely fun and solid first release; with a few tweaks and fixes it will be the best team fortress game yet.
