Pressing "jump" while climbing out of water

Well, it's not really something I am too concerned with. Just an annoyance. If you accidently press jump while it's automatically trying to climb out of the water, you lose all movement capabilities for a second or 2. I have played games where you HAVE to jump to get out of water, so I just need to get used to it. But it's still a pain in the ass. Loss of all movement can lead to premature death... esp. if you are being shot at with a nailgun. Easy target.

I have had this problem since I began playing a while back. Just never got around to saying anything about it. Seems to happen on every map. Well, Schtop, any map with a climbable ledge. And it's not random. It happens faithfully everytime I screw up and press jump to get out of the water.
