Steam to be available on Linux in the future?

Look closely at the job requirements. It would seem Valve might be in the process of making a Linux-based Steam client. Thoughts? |
doubtful. Looks like standard req's for any tech job. A good majority of back-end servers, storage, and file sharing servers are all linux.
Mind you it is available on Mac... |
its funny to see my tfc clan leader from like 2004 as the VP of marketing for FF :D
|
Well this has already happened and nothing came of it.

On a slightly unrelated note, steam mostly works under wine. The problem is getting the games (by this I mostly mean getting directx and gpu drivers) to work properly.
Buckshot Moose even had ff 2.0 working with the right (8800 I believe) card. |
We are talking about Valve, right? I remember reading shortly before Steam for Mac was released that Steam for Linux was in the works. That was like... 2 years ago.
|
ya man, I have no problems playing most source engine games or mods w/ wine so far. tho nuclear dawn was crashing a bit ..
|
Just saw an announcement that Steam will soon be available on certain smartphones, too.
|
Just saw it on the Android market now available for download...
|
I just received the beta access for it and been messing around on my droid. It's actually a really really nice app and the chat works awesome
