The bolded parts pretty much scream Battlefield.

It releases in two days, you'd think this is going to be a solid game, or a mess? It looks, from the images, like a mix of 2142, and some horrible sci fi game.

It sounds cool but you know how tight EA has the BF style games down. BF2 is prolific and cheap now, runs stable and is still being updated, albeit slowly.

Something I'd like to get from these style of shooters is one where support is a useful role. Say you have bots on your team as the ground pounders; they're efficient and somewhat able but they need armor and air support to reach their full potential.

I know you can do that in the BF games already but it is less optimal since kills are more valuable than capturing points. That is because you can win more easily if you lock the enemy down to a certain area and just spawn camp until the round is over. I think it would be more of a single player idea than MP, maybe because I've never had a good experience in the online BF environment since the earlier days of BF1942.

It a game where kills aren't the objective (i.e. CP mode), then they shouldn't even be shown on the scoreboard.

Speaking of the BF series, download the BF1943 demo on PSN. I'd wager there's one on XBL as well. It's worth the time on that, but I don't know if I'd like it enough to pay just for one map. But dayum, it's fun as shit running through buildings with a tank. Yes, I said through. The terrain itself isn't alterable but you can blow up the bridges, trees, fences - hell, everything except the dirt and rocks.
