VLC has the 100% WORSE GUI ever. I love MPC, but after days of hell, I couldn't get the 32 or 64 bit version to run on my system with codecs without randomly crashing my whole PC... ya, not fun.

So I now use Winamp for nearly everything. It doesn't read a few codecs, so i have to use WMP

Drive Manager
Drive Manager has been written to help you easily identify drives which are of the same type. As well as displaying the volume label it also displays vendor information so that multiply CD/DVD drives and removable drives such as USB thumb drives can be differentiated by their manufacturers name, version and revision date. Also the serial number can be seen as a unique ID for each drives. Features fuctions to hide/unhide drives, assign a new drive letter, etc.

Startup Delayer
Start up manager and delayer, speeding up your computers boot time, by delaying processes that you won’t use straight away.

Edit: Or Jackass JoeJoe's StartRight. Hard to tell what your doing with this though. No help file.

I actually use OD now. 2 minor reasons why:

1) The text rendering is better looking. Sharp and clean.
2) It has a BG theme with it that matches my Windows theme almost perfectly. Saved me many possible hours trying to find a RD BG theme.

RD is supposedly lighter, but I switch off magnification (don't care for it much) and set the icon size to 32 px, same as Windows which I did in RD cause it's how I like it, and the resources are practically the same.

Oh and most add-ons from both docks are cross-compatible

I mentioned this before the RD faggots start with the resource blabber.

Yeah, I've always like OD better, dunno why, it looked more professional IMHO.

HTTrack Website Copier - Open Source offline browser

I have been going through some of my bookmarks, to be disappointed that a fair amount are History. Particularly HL,TFC related pages.

Just tried HTTrack, had to have a quick flick through the manual but it works a treat.

Don't know if there is/are a better alternative.. but umm, yeah.

There is BackStreet Browser, didn't need to try it though.
And yes, I know about WayBackMachine.

[ Comments ]
I use it for doing everything in windows when it comes to file management: opening files, browsing files, organizing files, and even for uploading and downloading via FTP. The only time I don't use it is to browse pictures since it's a command prompt based program it doesn't have picture support for obvious reasons.

A REALLY nerdy tool and a live boot.

nLite
Windows XP slipstreamer.
For those less tech savvy, it lets you build a custom XP install disk. Everything from adding the correct SP or patch to customizing the GUI, adding users, auto-login, and adding DRVIERS. You can also have it auto-install and auto-include your CD key. While it's probably aimed partly at businesses, it's awesome if you need to install XP relatively often (guilty) or you happen to have an army of window XP VMs (also guilty).

And if you don't know about this one you should probably be shot...
Knoppix Linux
The original Live-Boot disk. Runs like a charm and is great for backing up data when windows decides it wants to randomly stop booting correctly. It works with EVERYTHING... just lovely.
