Este link puede ser de ayuda, aunque hay cosas que no quedan muy bien - la Railgun deberÃ*a ser algo como "pistola de rayos/láser", por ejemplo. By the way, are there character limits on any of those lines? Some words in Spanish, if not most, are way longer than in English, which may cause a fitting problem. So if there's a character limit, the sooner we know it the better =o Also, I guess it's possible to test the language swap by overwriting the original .txt with the translated one, or it will cause issues with servers with sv_pure? (Don't really want to screw up lol) |
I'll use that link, thanks firefox. I'll try to overwrite the .txt and see if things fit
¿Eres de españa? Tal vez tu podrias revisar mi traduccion. Y lo de super... es que me suena mucho a pijo Another problem is the detpack, and fuse for x seconds, i dont know how translate it :S |
Seeing as we are making this topic a Spanish translation one, I think the best we can do is continue this by PM or Steam Chat, to keep things clean.
Sorry for wasting space in teh topic! =o |

Scout です か?(Basically, "Is that a Scout?" in Japanese) doesn't really sound that weird I suppose, but I'm not the one to make that decision. Until the devs discuss this, assume that we'd want to translate the names for now. (If you don't have East Asian fonts installed, you're not gonna see my crazy Japanese characters in bold, you'll just see Scout ?? ??. Quote:
If someone does the actual translation, however, I don't see why we couldn't add them into the font (or make an extra font for that language). If we have the translation we'd be more inclined to get them added in. |
I think the problem is not the font, but the game not using Unicode for some stuff. We should test this by replacing the fonts we have with known complete Unicode fonts.
|
Part of the problem is that we don't have certain characters. I'd agree on the Unicode thing as well.

Can I use "ñ"? and acents? (á é Ã* ó ú)
Ihmhi, as I said, I'll stick to the original names, but i'll change hwguy for heavy, what do you think? Spanish people wille understand all the names, but if you prefer i'll use tfc's names, despite in my opinion the sound silly |
Dude, like I said, just translate the names as you see fit. If you want to add notes outside of the text file, like this:

If you can type it as a character and not an image, i.e. stuff like é, á, ô, etc. then it can probably be incorporated as a font in FF. Go ahead, translate away people. |
What about the vocal flag sounds and voice commands?
|
If it's not in that list then we can't do a whole bunch about it just yet.
Unless someone wants to get really good sound recording equipment or rent a studio and say "The enemy has your flag" in Russian all day... |
Parlo Italiano!
Spy - Spia Soldier - Soldato Scout - Sentinella Sniper - Cecchino Engineer - Genio (There's a couple that could work.) Demoman - Uomo di Demolizione |
I can translate into Russian. But it seems that there are problems with font in the menu.
|
I'll say this again.
There WILL be problems with the fronts because FF does not support most characters from other languages. Write it up and post it on the forums HERE. If you copy that text file and fill in the translations for your respective language, we will look into supporting those characters in the font. Don't worry about the characters. Do the translation and post it here. If it's done and its good, then we can worry about finding shit about fonts and whatnot for Russian, German, Spanish, etc. |
I'll do danish if you can support æ, ø, å

Alright, I'll get to it. It's tricky though, cause it's hard to translate without sounding silly/some puns being lost, so I'll try to maintain as many of the english terms as possible
|
I can translate it into both Ebonics and Redneck.
