New Steam GUI

A Brand New Steam

Anyone else try it?
What do you think?

I actually like it a lot. Seems very clean and I love the glossy look

mervaka 02-24-2010 03:59 PM

so far? not a fan. back to the old gui for me.

colours are nice but the arrangement is horrible - cant find my games fast enough.. they seemed to have made the default games list far too big and the small one you have no visual way of quickly finding the game you want.

not a fan other than the colours

the organization of it could of been done better, but overall the design is soo much better then what they currently have.

The best thing about the newest Client is that the steam browser is using webkit and mixing it up with JQuery.

It could be dead ugly, but with webkit/JQuery additions I am sold.

Tried it out earlier today. Great little improvements.

-Text is easier to read
-I like the ingame look. Shows the time and which of your friends are playing in the server.

The font change is FANTASTIC. Webkit is DAMN fast. My issues is that there is SOO MUCH DAMN "WHITE SPACE." Hopefully they'll fix that.

White space isn't always bad.

Ricey's obviously cheating.

Dr.Satan 02-25-2010 05:07 AM

lol especially since he still hasn't finished a single map

Dr.Satan 02-25-2010 05:52 AM

Oh, I like this shit...it's super sleek and seems faster. Games aren't that hard to find, just under library. I really like it so far!

I like it a lot

EquilibriuM 02-25-2010 03:13 PM

I like it a lot myself especially in-game community tab menu, also the clock sold me. :D
Thing i also like is the game list menu but, i also dislike it b/c i can't shrink it like make it less wide, its a bit to wide for my taste, i like the old style as far as that goes. But yes overall its almost perfect.
While we are on the subject i would like to ask, once you start playing a game, well for me on l4d2 after a few min of playing and i press my selected key i choose the community tab does not open anymore, can anyone confirm this, doesn't happen all the time, but as of right now i will say 75% of the time it does not.

^ I reverted back. I know what i like and i like what i know.

ryu^ 02-26-2010 04:00 PM

lol yes, finish a map ricey! and i see you are considering a port of run? lol seriously whos gonna play it?!

those steam hours are silly, if you are lazy, and leave your comp on 247 and leave your appz open 247 like me :-P

Mooga 02-26-2010 09:10 PM

The New Steam now uses WebKit instead of Trident. (In normal words: Steam now uses Chrome instead of Internt Explorer.) I'm not a chrome fan, but it's FAST AS HELL!

This interface kicks ass.
