Where it all started... half life screenshots
So I reciently found a program that looks in my picture gallaries on my harddrive and within 10 seconds it can create an html file for me to upload to my site. I had so much fun with it that I will most likely go back and create thumbnail picture gallaries of the whole half life series....
but take a moment, go back in time, and remember where this all started. See screenshots of the game that lit a fire under our butts and made us want more. http://www.catzeyes93.com/hl.html "Hello. My name is Victoria. And I am a freak." "Hello Victoria!" |
Heheh... I though you were a bot trying to sell something at first.
Yes, I'm a dork. Anyway, yeah... I have a pretty large HL2 and CSS "game photography" project that I started long ago. I need to finish the HL2 one now that I have a lot better graphics. In the meantime, I should upload my old pics. More info here: http://www.hlfallout.net/forums/inde...howtopic=24091 I think another thread just like this popped up today. I need to find it and merge the threads. |
 memories

I only beat HL1 like two weeks ago for the first time... I just never got around to it.
This thread on the Penny Arcade forums inspired me to pick it up again and beat it. :3 |

HL had better textures in their 1997 phase :( they had to cut it up with odd resolutions and such to try to fit on 4mb video cards (ending up looking worse since they used odd resolutions, causing stuff to ROUND UP and eat more memory while looking more blocky) |
Brings back a lot of good memories. I remember freaking out over playing Uplink. HL is still one of my favorite games of all time and I'm eagerly looking forward to Black Mesa: Source.

Damned shame FoXbot doesn't work with the original install. |
hmmmm
Am I supposed to take this to mean that Black Mesa Source may be released soon? I'm really hoping that this thread is a purposeful trip down memory lane.

As far as Team Fortress is concerned, it was Quake that got me into it. Half Life was next generation at the time.

I suppose one would never know for sure till it happened.

i'm surprised no 'fortress' ever had such an amazing intro as this. |

It will not work with a fresh install ? I suppose you'd need the incremental updates that came along to make it work. |

Either way, I'm still tingling with anticipation.......for Black Mesa Source, of course. |

God I remember those times of modders panicking over the latest patch update horking the SDK and such. but vgui came out of it ;) |

Bring it up to 1.5, and it works fine. Also, I like how back in the WON days, TFC was just a "mod", and on Steam, it's a $10 stand alone game......... |
